Each November, as the Mediterranean winds shift, our partners in Puglia begin the delicate process of the first cold press. This early harvest yields oils of exceptional vibrancy and peppery finish, capturing the essence of the season's first olives.
Re-honing Olivewood Tools
Clean Thoroughly
Dry Completely
Apply Beeswax
Buff to Luster
Wash wooden tools by hand with mild soap and warm water immediately after use. Avoid dishwashers, which can dry out the wood and lead to cracking.
Allow tools to air dry completely on a rack or cloth. Ensure no moisture remains trapped in crevices before proceeding to the next step.
Rub a small amount of food-grade beeswax balm evenly over the entire surface of the dry olivewood. Use a soft cloth to work the wax into the grain.
Let the beeswax sit for 15-20 minutes, then buff the tool vigorously with a clean, dry cloth until a soft sheen appears. Repeat every six months.
